I guess I'm supposed to introduce myself here?
Well, there's not much to tell. I'm from Indianapolis, and I've been playing since I was 10 (school band).
I just turned 56, and like most of you guys are probably doing, I'm just trying to keep working.
All my drums are old - 60's or so, and generally 4 pieces.
By the way, if 'new member' Johhny Rabb should see this post, I've been using a pair of your 5A sticks that your friend, Denny Dixon, gave me a few years ago, and I like them a lot.

I'm Matt 16 from Philadelphia so I'm the youngest one hereRaspery
I've been drumming for just over two years now so I'm kinda new to this whole thing.
Nice to have you here!

Just a few questions... what's your favorite kit?
and what's your favorite type of music?
Thanks and again nice to have you here

Gary - You say your drums are old like that's a bad thing. To many here that can be a real positive. It can be considered a vintage kit. Give us some details.

Hey Gary! Welcome to this little slice of digital drum madness we call Drum-World.

I'm fifty-one, and I play old and new drums. Currently DW, Gretsch, Slingerland and Leedy.

I am hanging my hat in Pittsburgh, although I travel a bunch. I'm happy to say that so far I've met four of the other regulars on here in my travels.

Have fun and dive into the mix.

i'll try to respond to everything here.
thank you for the reply about the speed king bearings, and i'll look at the video from the library.
no, i didn't mean anything derogatory about old drums - i prefer them.
right now, i think all my sets are mid-60's, and are all 4 piece sets. i have a WMP ludwig set, with a 22" BD. the other sets are all the size with the 20" BD. those would be a silver ludwig set, a gold slingerland set, and a hodge podge of various, cheaper drums in those same sizes - 20, 12, & 14.
i used to use 26" & 28" BD's, and would like to find another, cheap 26" sometime. i once had a blue leedy set with a 28" BD, and a ringo-colored ludwig set with a 28", too.
i prefer 26" BD's, though, over 28's.
i've got several snare drums, but usually use the supraphonics.
3 cymbals, and hi hats-pretty basic.
no favorite type of music.
thanks very much for all your replies.
