Ben,

How do you like the club jazz kit? Is jazz your main focus for playing?

As far as what i play when nobody's listening, i focus mostly on jazz, but when i play out, it's more of a quiet, indie rock type sound. The jazz sizes are great for the city since i'm at a premium on space and don't have a car (i keep it set under my loft bed at school), and i don't really need the volume or the depth of a huge kit for what i usually play. The kit itself isn't the best kit i've ever played, but definitely way way up there for under $1000, which is impressive considering i paid around $500.

That's a hell of a deal. I have a Gretsch Catalina Birch kit which was a great deal as well.

Smaller sizes help when your gigging. It didn't bother me at all when I was younger, but now a practice pad seems heavy.

I have no problem carrying something a little bit heavy out of a car and setting it down on a stage, but carrying it across campus or anywhere else for that matter without a car gets a little bit tough. Its nice being able to cary bass and floor tom at the same time with one hand each.

I used to carry a five pc kit in a pinto in my teens. It often meant some girl who was coming to see me play would come to the show with a drum in her lap.

Pleased
