| Hey all...
So i did my drum tech-ing at the conference last week. At the biggest indoor arena in Australia and over 25000 pll. It was such a great experience! I got to meet some really cool people including Marvin McQuitty. He's probably one of the best drummers I've ever seen and i had the honor to hang and chat with him a bit. | Was that at Acer Snoops? I saw the Chilli Peppers there a couple of months back - terrible sound, bit like the Ent Cent. Luke

| Yeah it was at the Acer Arena. The sound was ok i thought. Better than previous years but its so hard in that building.
We had yamaha supply all the kits this year. In the main arena it was an oak custom. Rolf just used a 4 piece set up. 22 kick, 14 snare 12 and 16 toms. It sounded pretty sweet. and the cymbals were all zildjian. Very big cymbals. 19 and 20 A custom crases, 14 k hats (i cant really remeber which model) 22 medium A custom ride, 22 oriental china and a 21 sweet ride as a third crash. I might be getting a few of those cymbals cheap so fingers crossed!

| I thought it sounded pretty good, a bit flat at times. But i would have to play around with one to get a real opinion on them. The way we had that kit tuned didnt really do it justice. The FOH guys wanted a really dull sound so it didnt sound that great acoustically, but sounded awesome through FOH. Especially the kick. They had both internal and external mics on the kick which i think helped... Snoopy <-- Thats my drums! | | Message posted 501 days ago | IP Logged |
