| The Vette is mine, and we are part of the Beat the Heat program. Just started last winter, but I've had it as far west as IN for a Beat the Heat race. We have a ball and the kids love it.
I don't get to drive it everyday, I drive a Crown Vic with my partner in the back (see avatar). He's 95 pounds of really bad attitude with big teeth. Two more years and I get to retire, and my partner will retire with me.
As for protecting anyone here, keep in mind, I haven't always been a cop. Back in my high school and collage days I played in a rock band or two doing the bar/club scene. I'm afraid I've fractured a law or two (nuff said.) So I rarely turn down a chance for a good laugh, perverted or otherwise.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions as I try to regain my chops, such as they were, and make something out of the used Pearl set I picked up.

| Jim - Welcom! I'm a 30 year absentee as well. What helped me get back in gear, although I'm probably only in second gear, was a Tommmy Igoe DVD. Of course there's lots of others out there, but here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Getting-...80604/103-9388560-8080604
