Hey guys(and girls)let me begin by saying this forum is great I've already learned a lot andIjust found this for yesterday. I'm 30 yrs old and I live in a very small town in Kentucky where I also own and operate a screen printing and sign shop. I've been drumming for several years but it's kind of been a part time hobby the last few years all my time and energy has been spent building my business and raising my children. About a year ago I met a great guitar player and decided to dig my old Pearl exports out of the closet and jam a little. After a few months we now have great singer and bass player and were playing nearly every weekend. I still very much consider myself a begineer but I'm practicing every day and trying my best to improve.
I'm hoping to upgrade to better kit soon(looking for suggestions)my kit is still in great shape to be 10 years old, but I want something more professional.
I have Zildjian zxt and zbt cymbals, hoping to upgrade those soon also.
One more thing, my four year old son has began playing also he has a Ludwig jr. kit and he's doing GREAT and is gonna be better than me soon.
I'm enjoying reading the post on here theres a lot knowledge and experience here and can't wait to chat with you guys.

I'll take a guess that your first name is Chad.

Welcome to to the party.

Pearl exports are decent drums. I'd put upgraded heads on them if you haven't recently, and them I'd work on upgrading the Cymbals. We certainly understand the disease we call "upgrade-itis. There is no known cure.Pleased

Everyone here is pretty friendly and glad to help any way we can.

Yes my first name is Chad, I have recently put EC2 heads on the on all my drums and evans resonant heads, I had always used remo heads but thought I would like to try these. It made a huge difference. Because I'm somewhat a beginner I was having problems with tuning so I bought a Drumdial and that helped a lot. The drums do sound great now but I definetely have "upgrade-itis".

Hey guys I'd like to put some pics of my kit on here can anyone tell me how to do that.

I'll let someone else explain that process to you because I'm lousy at it myself.Argh!

We call drum pictures "drum porn" because we REALLY like to look at them.

Thanks, I'm learning a lot and having the time of my life. I had never played any gigs or in front of large crowds until the past few months, I'm starting to get over my nerves and just have a great time playing now and it's a lot more enjoyable.
