I know this dragging an old thread up, but how are you finding it tyler?? I am contemplating getting the 300 for practice at home, feedback would be nice

My son loves it. I've record a bit a video and post it on my website and link it to here in the next day or two.

It's easily good enough for practice but not for live playing. The triggers aren't sensitive enough. There's a fault at the moment with the hi-hat channel on the brain - it's missing most hits. It's not the cable or the pad - we've swapped those round. However Thomman have agreed to replace the brain.

The accoustic noise from this kit is quite loud - it's no mesh-head nearly silent job. As you can see from the video the hi-hat isn't triggering.

He's normally much better than this but when his Dad's watching and especially videoing him he tenses up! I remember doing the same thing myself until I got used to performing in public. His confidence is growing though - he may even perform in public soon - he's hinted at a desire to give it a go.

As I said the mps-100 is a decent enough practice tool and for £220 or so it's a lot lot cheaper than even a second hand Roland or Yamaha.
