Hey guys I used to get on here every once and a while but haven't visited in quite some time, just thought I would say hi again. Plus I'm needing some advice about about micing my kit and such but I'll post that elsewhere.

Hi Chad,

Welcome back. Dive right in and let us know what's on your mind.

By the way,

1) You were talking about upgrading from your Exports the last I recall. Did you ever get around to it and if so, what did you go with?

And...

2) I'm guessing that your son is about six now, is he still playing his Ludwig Jr kit?

No Im still playing them and to be honest they are sounding pretty good now after playing around with different heads and things. I did upgrade cymbals a couple weeks ago though. I got Sabian AAX 14" stage hats, 16", 18" crash and 21" stage ride and love em', especially the ride.

Yeah my son is playing quite a lot now.

Its to good hear from ya again hope all is well with ya.

Oh no he wont touch the ludwig jr. kit he says they sound "junky" so he plays one of my old kits now.

I have AAXs set up on my kit right now. (It is a great cymbal line.)

Upgrad-itis is a terrible affliction of which I'm quite familiar...

It sounds like you've got the fever.

Yeah I do bad as soon as I recover from the cymbal purchase I'm going after the new drums but still cant decide what I want. Well I "want" DWs but probably not gonna be able to get them, I'll have to wait probably til my children are grown and out of college before I can get them, Haha!!

One of the guys on here recently ordered a Ludwig Classic Maple kit. Of the american made kits, I think it gives you the best bang for the buck. (Just my opinion.)

I have a set of DWs and I do love them.

"I'll check them out."

I would definitely consider Ludwigs if I were to buy another new kit. Lately I've become somewhat of a vintage drum addict.

Ludwig's reputation has recovered a lot of it's past stature. I own seven of their snares and all but two of them are modern.

Price varies quite a bit, so shop some if you decide to order. Dennis tried two different shops and found a $400 price difference on the same kit.
