Hey Guys and Gals,
I am wondering what some of you do to listen to music as you practice.
I use to put in earplugs and throw a set of headphones on top. There's got to be a better way.
What do you think?

I use noise cancelation headphones and I don't have to turn the music up as much.

Welcome to the forum.

Do you use active noise cancelling headphones like the ones that use AA or litium batteries Mike? Because those are a lot of $ hehe

I was also debating this, but instead of paying 75-150 for nice headphones I think I'll stick with my ear buds... Unless I can be persuadedDevilish

I use noise canceling headphones as well, but not the active ones.

I think the term is isolation headphones.

I like the Bose when I'm using my ipod and I like the EX-29s when I'm using my PA.

Just looked into this for about 45 mins and Yes sound isolating headphones just try to block out the sound physically by trying to seal off your ear to not let sound waves in...

Active noise canceling I believe interpret the external noises and play the inverse of that noise...
So it is basically fighting fire with fire (heheh Metallica reference) That's why they need batteries Geek

Hey everyone,
Thanks for the ideas. I can't believe I didn't think of noise canceling headphones before. I'll check some out at Best Buy.
Thanks

But remember that you should be able to heard yourself when you are playing... or else you will not know what you sound like...
