I might go with a pair if this does not work out.

I'm thinking that if I get this cheap enough I can use it to learn the different basic heel, tip, slap, tong movements.

Worse case scenerio, if I don't enjoy this at all it becomes a decoration in the music/game room...

If this one gets pricey I'll start looking at a pair of congas that are more serious instruments.

I'll let you know how it goes.

(A pair does make sense though Al.)

I just think you'd find a single drum boring.

You are likely right.

That's why I threw the question out there. I might find out that this is one of my all time dumb purchases.

Part of my attraction to this drum is that I'm a sucker for anything Slingerland. This is not a secret. With three of their kits and seven snares I can't deny it.

Sitting out there on ebay all by it's self it looks lonely.

I'm a sensible guy about most things. (But not drums.)

Pleased

I know I'm hopeless, but I thought I'd share whats on my "watch list".

There is likely one in my future. I think the Conga is the best instrument to learn on.

I know that I don't know how to play them, but I do want to learn to do it right.

That's pretty cool Billy.

I still have not gotten one. I was two minutes from bidding on a nice Toca last night and my sister called. I was sitting there listening to her when the screen changed to sold. It ended up going for two dollars more than I was going tp bid anyway so it doesn't matter.

I'm not in a hurry, I'm watching for a good deal on something I'll really like.
