| I've been using Evans G2's for about a year now, and really like the way they sound. Particularly the clears on the toms. I use a Evans reverse dot on my 6 1/2 COB supra and really like it. I fogot to mention that when Mike and I picked up my Ludwig CM a couple week's ago, I bit the bullit for a 5x14 Black Beauty. Really nice sounding drum. I wanted to try a different head rather than the reverse dot, so based on a recommendation from a guy at the local Guitar Center, I bought a Evans General dry with vented holes around it. I was surprised that it had (of course) enough muffling built in that I didnt use anything extra. I dont know how dry it would be playing live though. I'm sure it probably wouldnt cut through live. I havent played out in quite a while so I guess when the time comes, I'll find out. But untill then its sounds fine in the basement. By the way, I got a killer deal on the BB as well, (thanks to Mike's buddies at Washington Music

| Has anybody tried a coated EC Revearse dot or a coated EC1 Revearse Dot snare batter?I know the coated EC is two ply. I went to a Tommy Igoe clinic and he had a EC1 Revearse dot on his DW snare and it sounded great. Thanks George | | Message posted 523 days ago | IP Logged |
