| Al suggested that we have a seperate place to talk about guitars, basses, etc. I think that it is a great idea.
A seperate section would be nice, but for lack of that we could use this thread for our various stringed instrument discussions.
I'll gladly start...
I've found THE bass. I'm going to put it on lay away, maybe today.
It is a Fender precision 60th anniverary precision. Almost all of them are in the blonde transparent finish. I found an apparently rare one in sunburst finish. I loved the way it felt and played. It comes with a black pickguard. I'm ordering a tortoise shell guard for it. I'll take the original black guard off and not even remove the protective plastic. That way I'll have the original factory pickguard, new and still in plastic if I ever want to sell it.
It has a pickguard like the original 1951 P-bass and is routed like it. Otherwise, it is a an American Standard. It has the American Standard's neck, high mass bridge, pickups , etc... These also have an ash body instead of alder which Fender has traditionaly done with their nice transparent finishes.
