I just started taking lessons 4 weeks ago. I've just been working through a bunch of basic rythmns and some fills.
The school where i get lessons also has a garage band set up where you get to play with the other students (bass player piano, guitars etc) i'm really lucky actually because i'm the only drummer there on thursdays so i get to play with the band for 1 hour before my lesson and for half an hour after!
I'm house sitting at the moment in the country-side so i was able to borrow a kit from the school for the next three weeks but after that i'm back to no drums...i live in the student appartments here...i'm sure its an old story..paper thin walls and all!! So i'm in the market for an electronic set i guess (a cheap electronic set!!)

Why did you ask about rudiments...got a good web site or somethin'
