| My DWs are $3,100 for a six pc shell pack, including the snare. I got a hell of a deal on them. And yes, they are brand new. -Mike of Baltimore We don't stop playing because we grow old. We grow old because we stop playing.

| I'm not familiar with iron wood. For the drum to stay true round after its machined I would think the moisture content would be critical to avoid the wood shrinking and splitting. The great advantage of ply construction is that its almost weatherproof.

| | I paid $2800 for my six piece Pearl Reference kit, including the snare. The bass and three of the four toms were a display kit, but essentially new, and went for $1800 on eBay. The snare and the 14" floor tom were brand new. - Al | | Message posted 102 days ago | IP Logged |

| There's a tree that grows in the american southwest that is called iron wood, but it dosen't grow large enough to make drums out of.
