actualy if you compare these drums to highend acoustic guitars they are quite resonable considering labor and materials.

That's cool Luke, considering the exotic nature of the wood and the unique construction $5500 is not unresonable.
A Ludwig maple jazz kit runs $1499 to $1699 with no snare, and they are very common.
