So in all honesty, it can be the fact i have evans g2 on the top for the reason im not getting a good sound out of my floor tom?

Yes, G2's need to be a little tighter. If you have the cash get an EC2, they give a much lower pitch, they have EC Reso now to but you should be ok with a G1 on the bottom, that's the set up I used EC2 top/G1 bottom.

alrightim going to give the ec2 a shot. thanks!! Updated on 2/11/2010 10:29:34 AM i just looked at them, coated or clear?

Clear will last longer, have more stick noise and attack. Coated will be a little rounder and warmer sounding. Member since at least October 2005!

hmm i like the sound of both them except the stick noise. I just want a low deep sound, would coated be better?

They say the new EC2's are even better than the old ones. Updated on 2/23/2010 10:45:04 AM They're just a newer model.
