| | its a 16' floor tom. Im currently using evans g2 on the top and evans g1 on the bottom. I dont have a distinct sound I want, I kind of just want that rock and roll, low floor tom. | | Message posted 731 days ago | IP Logged |

| The funny thing about G2's are they don't tune low very well, you see they need to be tightened more to get any tone, try G1 top and bottom. Tune the top head first as low as you can without getting a slap sound. Then tune the bottom head just above rinkle. You don't want it to resonate. EC2's may work better for you.
If you haven't got money for more heads try this, put the G2 on the bottom tune it just above or what the hell let it flap in the wind. Then tune the top head until you get the sound you want. Good luck! | | Message posted 730 days ago | IP Logged |

| | You think putting a thinner head on top (G1) will make a lower sound? I was thinking of getting an ec2's or hydraulics. what do you think? | | Message posted 730 days ago | IP Logged |
