The national youth radio network here 'Triple J' has a poll running for favourite album of all time. There is a TV special night with live music etc. later in the year with a countdown type thing.
Its so hard to name just one record but the first thing that came into my head was
Deep Purple's " Concerto for Group and Orchestra"
so that got my vote

Wow.... That is a tough question. Rock would probably be Sgt. Peppers or The White Album (both changed the way we look at and record music). Jazz.............. Fergusions Primal Scream or Tower of Powers Urban Renewal or maybe some Mingus or Chick Corea or damn that list would kill me too.

And I'd probably change my mind tomorrow as well.

There's so much good stuff. Can't put my finger on only one. Mingus and Fergusson are GREAT, deffinately on the top of my jazz list. The Beatles both as a band and individually are also at the top of my rock list, along with Led Zeppelin. Weather Report and Jaco are also great.

OK, it's a new day.

Beatles - Abbey Road; Miles Davis - Kind of Blue.

I'll have new ones tomorrow.

(These are my favorites - no claims are made as to these being the "best" anything.)

"In no particular order..."

The Police - Synchronicity

Rufus: Stompin' At The Savoy

Wes Montgomery and the Wynton Kelly Trio: Smokin' At The Half Note

If I have to pick just one, it's Stompin' At The Savoy.
"I played with Holdsworth, Fripp, and Belew...I wish we drummers could play that differently. Drummers are starting to homogenize into the same guy, which frightens me." - Bill Bruford
