I met John Hartford,Little Roy wiggins(hall of fame steel guitarist) and bluesman Roy Bookbinder. I also saw Alexander Haig and His entourage at the Monteleone hotel in New Orleans back in the 80s. Senator Kit Bond lived tree door down from us in Chevy Chase. I met a LOT of politicians while in DC, particularly with my job.

I much prefer musicians.

I sat next to Dickie Betts once on a flight between Ft Lauderdale and Dallas.

I did my best not to bother him, he seemed like a decent guy. I got the impression that he didn't like to fly, even first class.

I shook Obama's hand and spoke to him briefly when he was still in the Illinois General Assembly. He had given a speech at our Association's Annual Conference in Springfield.

I used to see him on occasion at hearings at the Capitol as well.
