| For Sale: 6x14 tiger maple segment shell snare drum
Specs:
6x14 tiger maple segment shell by Global Drum Company (http://www.globaldrumco.net ), drilling and layout by yours truly. - 8 lugs - triple-flanged counterhoops - "drop style" strainer, die cast butt plate - Tama Starclassic snare wires - two 3/8" vents with grommets - interior finish: two coats of tung oil - exterior finish: several coats of wipe-on gloss polyurethane (glossy, but not a "mile deep" gloss)
Edges and beds cut by Global Drum Company. (I widened the snare beds by about an inch and a half on each side, to make the ramps more gradual and allow the snare head to seat more evenly)
Why I'm selling: I've got several other wooden snare drums in roughly this same size, offering roughly the same sound.

There is one flaw in the drilling/assembly that I should mention. When doing the layout, I mistakenly measured off of the batter side edge rather than the snare side edge when marking the layout for the butt plate. This resulted in two extra holes in the shell, directly above the holes drilled for the butt plate:

Price: $175, including shipping in the continental US. Accepted forms of payment: bank check, Western Union wire, or USPS Money Order (sorry, no PayPal). To start, at least, I'm going to limit the sale of this to the continental U.S., just to keep things simple. If the drum doesn't sell, I may consider opening up the sale to individuals in other countries.
Please contact me directly with any questions or inquiries, via my web site:

| One more shameless bump. Please, folks - don't make me have to post this on eBay...

| The reason the price is so low is that I haven't found anyone to buy it yet. I just picked up a cymbal on eBay, and I'm trying to help offset the cost of that purchase.
The only reason why I'm hesitant to ship the drum abroad is dealing with the my bank processing the payment. Whenever I've gotten a payment from someone outside the country, the fees my bank has charged have been excessive. (A few months ago, I received one check, drawn on a UK bank, that was made out in $US, and my bank still wanted to charge me a conversion fee. Somebody's got to explain that one to me, because my bank never did. It would've cost me at least $25 in fees to cash a check for $30. It makes no sense, but there it is anyway.)
That's why I'm holding off on opening up the sale to countries outside the US - I want to exhaust my efforts within the US.
Just so there's no misunderstanding - it's not anything against folks outside the US. I'm guessing that if I lived in England, I'd be exhausting my efforts to sell within the UK (or maybe the EC), and avoiding a sale to the US. It's just the damn paperwork and fees dealing with international transactions, that kills my enthusiasm for such a deal. I know I'm severely limiting my pool of potential buyers, but that's the situation right now.
If I do open this up beyond the American market, I'll post again here. "I played with Holdsworth, Fripp, and Belew...I wish we drummers could play that differently. Drummers are starting to homogenize into the same guy, which frightens me." - Bill Bruford

| I have no clue re: paypal. I don't have an account. I don't do enough sales to warrant it. "I played with Holdsworth, Fripp, and Belew...I wish we drummers could play that differently. Drummers are starting to homogenize into the same guy, which frightens me." - Bill Bruford
