Choirs are great practice. I spent a lot of time in choirs when I was in high school. I'm sure it contributed to the development of my ear quite a bit. And of course being able to sing is a nice thing when you're getting hired by a band.

Also, they sent me to Scotland on tour for two weeks. Nice paid vacation is worth sining for!

OH yeah, it's amazing how many bands are comprised of members with NO harmony skills!! It IS a major selling point AND it adds to the value of the BAND as now you have professional sounding harmony vocals.

Yep. That's why I love being able to sing.

Sometimes I also go up front for an 'acoustic' set, and play guitar and front the band. It gives the regular front guys a break.
