Hi Folks --

I'm having a hard time figuring out where I should post this on this forum so I'll just start here. I'm looking for a drummer in the Chicago area. Can anyone point me in a direction as to how I can find a drummer? Craigs and FB are coming up with squat and I can't seem to find a good forum for locating talent.

If you're interested, here's our ad. Email me at kyric@sbcglobal.net.

Thanks.

Successful Chicago area (west suburban) band is looking for an energetic drummer. We are a serious band with repeating gigs and studio time scheduled. We want a skilled drummer who plays dynamically – don’t just keep the beat but bring out the best of your kit. No overly showy fills but also no metronomes please. We are an original band that also plays some covers to fill out our set list. Our original music is a soulful, bluesy mix of late 90’s alternative mixed with a touch of acoustical grunginess. Think Goo Goo Dolls meets Collective Soul with a splash of Pearl Jam and John Mayer. Please email me for information and be prepared to submit a press kit including samples. Age is not an issue – we range from 28 to 41 so don’t be afraid to reach out.

I've found the musicians I was looking for on craigslist and bandmix.

bandmix charges a fee if you want to contact one of its members - one month at $10 was enough for me to make contact!

That's the way it is here as well.

Every bass good bass player I know has his choice of gigs.

Did I mention that I'm taking bass lessons?

My brother is a bass player PART TIME, and I'm a full time drummer/percussionist.

He goes to school for English Lit. He's at least as busy as me.
