That Masterworks snare kind of reminded me of this. - Al

It's the gold tube lugs and hardware that do it! Cool Dude

I really like the red-burl/gold hardware combo on the masterworks. Pleased

Josh - I agree, but I'm really uncertain of what I think of tube lugs. I understand that they allow the shell to resonate, but I'm not sure I like the appearance. Maybe it's because they look flimsy. - Al

Appearance wise, I like tube lugs on some drums, and others I dont. As for that masterworks snare, I would rather have it with tube lugs instead of any other lug. Pleased

A tube lug is probably stronger than a lug with a cast housing, it would depend on the material it's made of.
Most drums use some type of washer assembly to disperse the tension and to keep the drill holes from wallowing out.

I agree, Billy. Tube lugs are probably the lightest, most stable type of lug that can be put on a drum.

Billy - I'm not saying they are flimsy, just that to me they look flimsy. And they look pretty much the same on most brands. - Al

Maybe a better wor than flimsy is cheap. To me they look cheap. - Al
