Do you think double bass wrecks a song or makes it. What are your views.

really depends on where you use it and what kind of music you play. Its helpful to use in long drum solos

like all things its down to style, to much of anything is a bad thing. the drummers i enjoy listening to hold alot back and only let you hear some of what they got.

treat em mean keep em keen

You can ruin a song with one bass, if you don't know what you're doing . The trick is don't just play the drums, play the music.

Ok here comes the fire storm...  Double bass is ok when used as an accent to what your playing but personally I never liked thump, thump, thump, thump playing over and over on the bass drum at any speed.  So learn the song and play the song....  You wil find most true grooves do not use a double bass.

I just use my double pedal on occasions, I would say 90% of the night I am just using one pedal.  But, it depends on what tunes you are playing.

16ths suck, unless used correctly. i prefer "tasteful" double kick, a triplet here, sxlet there

if you play really simple for the first 8 songs in your set, and you nail a badass roll, or beat in the 9th, people will notice it more than if you show your sh*t the whole set.
