I think Phil Collins should be on there for sure.

What about Jeff Hamilton? Peter Erskine?

If we're talking about innovate drummer, then consider Akira Jimbo? Not my personal favourite, but he certainly does some unique stuff.

Exactly.

Dave Grohl and Chad Smith would make my list... but Joey, I love his drumming but there are better metal guys, who influence more people.

For me, in the last 25 years Josh Freese is No. 1 (in rock and metal drumming). He is on so many albums, and so many tracks - and people just don't realise. Plus A Perfect Circle are one of my favorite bands.

In terms of Collins, I think he has had more influence as a song writer and general musician than as a drummer.
