What do you guys/gals use for digital recorders. Dont want anything fancy, just want to record practice and myself for objective listening later.

I'm an idiot and don't have one yet.

(sigh.)

But...

Several of the gang (at least two...) have Zoom H4s and swear by them.

I really do need to get around to that.

I wanted to type pain instead of pin.

There are several nice USB interfaces for lap tops that are inexpensive. Most record two tracks at a time to Cubasic or similar software. with two good mics You can make high quality complex recordings without spending a lot of money.

the Zoom H2 or H4 is ok for room recording and really simple to use.....but $300 bill buy some nice drum equipment...the usb mic thing sounds like the most cost effective way.
