| Or in my case for Kwanhanamas...
My middle son bought me Hendrix's Electric Ladyland (my vinyl was worn out) and Arthur Blythe's Lenox Ave Breakdown.
I listened to Electric Ladyland last night. I forgot how great that recording is. Stands up 40 years later.
The Arthur Blythe album will only be listened to when I'm home alone. Great stuff, but not for faint of heart.
Did anyone else get some noteworthy recordings? Gene | | Message posted 333 days ago | IP Logged |

| I got a Harry Connick Junior CD called "Come by me".
And I also got NOW that's what I call music #24. I already had 1-23, plus 25 and 26. It's the only one I was missing. It's hardly noteworthy though. I collected them in my DJ days and never stopped.

| | I didn't get a CD, but I'm expecting to receive the 2 DVD set from Eric Clapton's Guitar Festival in Chicago this past summer. I saw some of it on a public TV fundraiser and its great stuff. Everyone from B.B. King to Jeff Beck - dozens of great guitarists. And Luke, there was this 20 year old female bass player from Australia who played with Jeff Beck who was just amazing! I'll try to remember to post the name when the DVD comes. She didn't look a day over 16, but she also has quite a stage presence. - I also have the DVD from the 2006 festival. Clapton does them to raise money for his drug rehab clinic. - Al | | Message posted 332 days ago | IP Logged |

| The name of that young woman on bass with Jeff Beck was Tal Wilkenfeld. She has a solo CD out named Transformation. She's just incredible for 21 years old (or any age)!- Al
