I have ads pop up here for Musician's Friend "Deal of the day".

I don't always check it, but on occasion they do have something cheap and decent that I pick up.

Today it was an AKG D9000 mic for $35 with free shipping.

I thought that was fair.

Does anyone else check them out and buy on occasion?

I have looked at it on occasion, but usually the deals aren't that great.

My brother has a few of those AKG D9000s. To me they are as good as the ubiquitous SM58.

A SM58 costs $99 and a D9000 costs $79 usually. That's a good reason to lean toward the AKG anyway. At $35 with free shipping and no tax it really is "the stupid deal of the day".

A lot of times the deals are not that good. I bought an off brand hardshell guitar case a couple of months ago for $25 with free shipping. Again, that one was hard to pass up. I guess my point is that particularly if you live in the states, it's worth clicking on the site every day to see if it's something you want or need. Sometimes it's a deal, sometimes it isn't.

Certainly isn't worth it if you're outside the US and would have to pay shipping, duty, taxes, etc.

But I'm glad you got some good deals!
