2 bass drums look cool... I used to do use them in my early days and actually stoped 'cause I wasn't using them much and it was a bitch to carry in and out of the venue, tune and took up space on stage and in the van or trailer which was valuable when you carry lights and PA...  But when I made the switch,  double pedals were not in fashion so I just played faster with my right foot or did the fake with the left hand

BTW two bass drums sound better than one with a double pedal in my opinion because they are able to resonate between each kick.

Man I was thinking the same exact thing. Sometimes, a double pedal kinda cancels out the resonance of the drum when playing faster rhythms. But it would suck to have to carry to basses around.

I just dont like the hats being so far out when two bass drums are involved. I dislike fixed hats, not fun enough as foot action isn't involved. I also don't prefer those that are connected via a cable (never used em, told theyre reliable, but dont like the look of them), although the hat pedal can be brought in real close (only advantage i feel). They cannot serve as a primary choke i reckon.

Looks like a medical instrument...

Yep, they can only act good as a secondary system.

I do know guys using them as primary with no issues....  And it may look cool and all your friends may like it but ater you carry one in and out of clubs for months every weekend....  You will get rid of it....  Experience

if u got a dubble pedal you can still play the high hat at the same time, thats whats good about it.
