A seven piece DW kit would be great.. but you better have lots of money.  If you buy one of those DON'T forget the hard shell cases either.  You would hate to see anyhting happen to those babies.

Personally, I would try to find a good used kit.  Of course it depends what you plan to do.  Are you looking for a great kit for gigs.. or just practice.

Good luck

also remember that the kit prices for a dw dont include any hardware, like tom stands. it may include a kick mount if you order it that way. thats gonna be another 2-300 bucks depending on the brand you get. I'm gonna go used and get a dw kit.....one day....

pacifics are for intermediate players. cx shells go for like $500-600 and you can buy the two add on toms and make it a 7 peice. Not really sure how much but for both it would be something like $300 (correct me if i'm wrong). Theres some black used shells on ebay with cases but its only a 5 peice and the starting bid is $1,500. lotta money. that may give u an idea on prices.

good luck

Yeah...what is with all the DW hype anyway? Yeah, they are nice kits - but not that nice! For the money they want you can get a proper custom kit, and it will be unique!

And just remember, until very recently DW just used Keller shells like all the other custom shops - DW shells are a new concept!

Nice hardware though!

i like them and have been thinking about making a change, the trouble is yes they look damn fine but sound wise they are comparable to my Pearl. and to be honest i dont think i could bring myself to sell my current set and cant afford two kits!

i guess what im trying to say is to get more kit for your money go for any other brand apart from DW! (nice pedals though

Where in the states aer you?  In the southeast we have a few good custom builders.  Which I could highly recommend.

But I'm with everyone else DW's are way over priced for what your looking for....  The hype is not worth the price....
