New pedal time is fast approaching and I still can't decide what to get. I am leaning toward one of these two.

Does anyone have both? I've heard that the 9000 is 'smoother', whatever that means to the person who told me. I've also been told that is TOO smooth. That there is no resistance and you don't get the feedback from feeling the pedal as much as you do with the 5000.

One thing I really like about the 9000 is the variable cam design, rather than having to choose either the Turbo or Accelerator. I have a feeling I want the Turbo (more traditional cam shape) but at least with the 9000 I have options.

Of course I'm going to try to find them both and try them side by side, but nobody in town has them, and I'm not often hanging around Toronto with free time.

I have both Duncan and I feel comfortable with either and don't see a huge difference. My 9000s are set in the "turbo" mode. I never change them. For whatever it's worth I've been using the 5000 more as of late.

Duncan,

Just to confuse things. Not a big fan of the 5000. Picked the eliminator in a side by side comparison. Like the 9000 a lot. Picked it over the eliminator in a side by side.
