This past week I used the "K"s in Pittsburgh and I have the Paiste signatures on the DWs.

I love both setups but I tend to play then differently.

I have learned (finally) to quit buying "ink" and when a cymbal, drum head, or a pedal sounds awesome or feels great, GET IT.
However, after trying a few Aquarian and Evans drum heads, I'm still kinda hung up on Remo.

Right now my kit has:

A Zildjian
K Zildjian
Sabian AA
Sabian HH
Dream Bliss
Istanbul Agop

A weird mashup of cymbals can be fun too Mike!

True, I have one 2002 mixed in with the Signatures right now. I'll mix "A"s and "K"s, "A"s and 2002s, "A"s and Signatures.

To me Signatures and 2002s don't work well with "K"s.

One setup I often use is 14" A New Beat Hi Hats,18" Istanbul Crash, 20" Sabian HH Classic Ride, 16" 2002 Paiste crash.

It was an accident. I threw up some cymbals in a hurry when I was practicing and found that whey really complimented each other.

"I love both setups but I tend to play then differently."

How so, Mike?

I've got a few different cymbal setups (although I tend simply to mix and match liberally, versus settling into certain pre-set setups), but it's tough for me to say that I play the setups differently. I'll use different cymbals because they suit different musical situations, and I'll often play differently because the music is different, not so much because the cymbals are different.

FWIW, here a couple of favorite mixed setups of mine:

• 14" New Beats, 18" Bosphorus Traditional crash, 20" Paiste 602 ("general business"

• 15" New Beats, 22" Agop, 22" Diril, 20" Bettis Custom reverse china ("bop kit")

"I love both setups but I tend to play them differently."

I should have explained that comment.

The "K"s and Signatures respond differently to touch and therefore I approach them in a slightly different manner.

Both cymbal types open very easily to a light or medium touch. The Paiste Signature crashes can almost cut too much in some situations for my taste, so I don't tend to smack them quite as hard. (I particularly find this true with the fast crashes.)

I love the Sigs though, I think they have a very sweet and musical sound. Sometimes I prefer that to the trashier sound of the "K"s and sometimes I don't.

It's all just my opinion James.

Agazarian hats blahh
20" B8 ride
19" aaxplosion fast crash lovely
16" agazarian crash actually its nice for 40 bucks
14" aaxsplosion crash a beut!

When I get some new hi hats I'll be happy with my set up because the agazarian crash actually sounds preety nice when miked up and obviously the aax's are amazing. Fits my style perfect a nice trashy sound that fits great with rock metal alt. and hardcore....

oh the hats are 13"

I think it's that adjustment Mike is talking of that I never made when I tried a set of Paiste 2002s.

Boy, I sounded like shit on them!
