Does anyone here own one?  If you do, is it as great as the name suggests?

Yeh the crash of doom is mad, umm heres how it was made:

Dennis Chambers helped zildjian make this cymbal cause when he was in China or somewhere like that he heard a ultra trashy warped crash and really liked the sound of it so when he went back to America he helped produce this cymbal with Zildjian. Theres how it was made

Speaking of China cymbals, I ordered the mother of all Chinas on the 8th, a Sabian 20" HHX China in brilliant finish.  Can't Wait!

Yep!  They're thin and they're warped and they're supposed to be.   They sound great but I know I'd crack one if I used it.  Too thin...nice trashy sound, tho...Not for metalheads or the other more aggressive drumists out there.  You'll end up with a trash can lid - an EXPENSIVE trash can lid!

Jep! I've got a crash of doom! Man, I loved that thing to bits, until the sad, sad day came when I hit it to bits.   Kinda makes you wonder, doesn't it? It's a CRASH and it met its DOOM. heh. Stuff like that really mystifies me...

Check the pic below! Now its got a big ugly crack in it, wich is of course "a crack of doom"...

Seriously though, I'm really picky when it comes to china-type stuff, and I rarely find a cymbal that sounds so very beautiful, deep and intruigingly complex. It's definately not built for hard-hitters like me though.

I'm gonna buy me a new one asap, and this time treat it with all the TLC it deserves!

dont bother on the metal x's either, even though they claim to be for "heavy hitters". i cracked both of mine in one week. they were about three months old.
