Jack is a good guy.

But I would like to sleep in on occasion.

My contractors are just annoying me through ineptitude at the moment. Nice guys though.

I suppose they are a different scale to your guy. We had the UK projects manager pay us a visit the other day - I think he is worried about losing millions of £ of projects on other sites Devilish

He probably should be Devilish

Yes, this is a little different. It's just a little $100,000 renovation.

They tore the deck down this morning.

You could have just bought a house for that!

My uncle paid $65,000 for just his kitchen to be made bigger. That was 20 years ago. He had 5 bathrooms two dining rooms heated swimming pool...

He wasn't a poor guy.

We aren't enlarging the kitchen, but the materials alone are about $45,000 plus labor. That includes appliances, granite, tile, cabinets, etc...

Latest update.

They tore off the deck last week. The new one is mostly together. The structure and decking is done. They have to add steps, a landing, and railings to make it usable again.

The kitchen is awaiting the granite and tile, it will then be a matter of mouldings and trim to finish it. Woo-Hoo!

The bath is framed out. We (finally) picked the tile today. We are awaiting time and cost estimates on it.

We have not started work on the basement yet.

We might have a house in time for Christmas.

(Maybe.)

$100,000! That would have paid for my house and still leave enough for a few DW kits!

Of course my house wouldn't have room for a few DW kits.

The house should be worth the wait.

(So far, so good.)
