By the end of tomorrow our kitchen and main bathroom will cease to exist.

The contractor is going to tear out the old bath and kitchen ceiling to get to the pipes.

We have a second full bath which is (weirdly) off of the kitchen. Once the main bath is operational the first floor full bath will be downsized to a powder room (1/2 bath) to allow for a usable staircase to the basement to be installed. This will be going on as they renovate the kitchen.

At that time they will remove the basement floor, lower it, and install another full bath down there.

Once the floor is done I can start on roughing in the basement for my music room/bar.

I'm looking to have my drum room ready for the winter!

I'm using contractors for all of the crazy stuff. I keep myself busy doing the little jobs I can tackle.

I'm working on refurbishing a hardwood floor in a second room right now. The first one I did turned out pretty good.

I figured I'd throw an update out there...

Our old kitchen is GONE. It has been completely gutted. (We are sick of eating out every day.)

Our upstairs bathroom is also completely gutted.

We get to travel down to the first floor in the middle of the night.

Fun.

It will all be worth is once it is done.

just finished doing up or bathroom so i can sympathise with the midnight hikes downstairs to the toilet,

We finalized the design for the master bath today. I think we came up with some very cool ideas.

The fence should be done today, the dogs will be happy.

I picked up two loads of one hundred bricks in my HHR today. I placing them along the base of the fence so that the dogs cannot dig.

I finally finished the floor in the guest bedroom. (AKA traveling drummer's room.) It turned out even better than the floor I refinished in the office.

The house is coming along.
