| Thanks Mike!
At first I had Remo clear pinstripes with Remo ebony ambassadors on the bottom, it gave me a deep warm sound. Many people liked the way the drums sounded. Then I switched to Evans EC1 on top and Evans G1 clear on the bottom, EC1's need to be a little tighter so the drums are more open sounding, people seem to like the sound too but if your looking for a rock type sound I would go for the EC2 heads with G1 clear or EC Reso on the bottom.
I don't know if it's just me but I find Evans heads sound better on Tama Drums, they do come stock and I guess when they design their drums they use Evans so that could have something to do with it.
Now in the studio we used EC2 and G1 clear, and they sounded great! But if a guy came in and didn't hit hard or we were recording Jazz I would put G1 clear top and bottom, I got a lot of complements from drummers and producers on the sounds I made with the SCP, great drums I love them. Oh and on the bass drums I like the EMAD not so much the EMAD2 with EQ3, on snares it depends on which one you have 10 lug or 8 lug.
We had two sets there mine 22X16 12X10 13X11 16X16 and the studio set, 20X18 10X8 12X9 14X12
Here's some photos of my set the studio set and a mix of mine and the studio set,
