I got free tickets to see Asia in Westbury last night. Nice show, though I liked other projects the members did better then this particular band. Primarily, it was great to hear John Wetton again. Loved The version of King Crimson he was in in the 70's (with Bill Bruford).

They played Court of the Crimson King, and it was a very nice interpretation. Wetton's voice sound great. Yes' Roundabout and some ELP were also covered.

Obviously they did mostly their Asia repertoire, including tunes from their new recording, Phoenix. Carl Palmer took an extended solo and still has outsanding chops. Steve Howe sounded stronger then ever, especially his solos (which in the past was not my favorite part of his playing).

They seemed to be having quite a good time and the audience was absolutely wild about them. All in all a very enjoyable evening.
