Any Rock/Metal Listeners out there?

I need new music to listen to.

I like Tool, Fantomas, System of a Down, Morbid Angel, Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan, Lamb of God, etc.

I've been listening to heavy stuff for 14 or 15 years now and I feel like I've heard it all. I know that's not true though. I just get tired of buying new CD's and being disgusted. I'm picky.

Someone tell me something new (to me, even if its old, I just discovered Kyuss this year) thats good. I like slow and heavy (like eyehategod or facedowninshit or grief) or math metal like Dillinger, Sikth or Meshuggah. Anything thats different really.

Thanks for any advice.

I am a huge tool fan myself and cant get enough of Danny Carey. He is just amazing. I myself have been looking for a band kind of like Tool but havent found one yet.Devilish

I've checked out all of the bands you mention. I didn't care for mudvayne when I heard them in 99 or whenever they came out with their first national release and never gave them another chance. I'll have to listen back to it. Children of Bodom is okay but I like more variety in my music or something.

Pantera has been awesome since Vulgar Display of Power was "the new album". That's when I found about them anyway.

I like Mastodon's Remission and Leviathan albums alright but I can't get through Blood Mountain.

Carey is a bad ass period. Anyone that disagrees is either deaf or dumb.

You'll find a band like Tool if I can get my band going. I think I have the lineup right but we haven't got together yet. Speaking of Pantera my bass player has an autographed paper plate from the Cowboys from Hell tour. Yeah, when they were opening for Skid f'ing Row.

What else you listening to? I have 12,000 songs on my iPod, 1100 CD's and almost that many LP's and I still need something new. Argh!

Sorry, don't listen to metal, really. Muse is always good though. I probably didn't have to tell you I like them.

huh?

no offense Joey, but organized religion (especially in the south) isn't for me. The ideas are great (and I practice many of them), I just don't care for the business side of it.

I like Metallica and Dream Theater, I don't know if you'd class them as Heavy Metal but there heavy enough for me!

I used to like Metallica until Load came out. I lost interest after that. The first 5 or so albums are freaking awesome.

Dream Theater has it's moments but theres a little too much masterbation for me. I'm all about the songs with a little showing off thrown in. Not showing off with a little song thrown in.

I just found the song "John Doe" by Testament. It's on the "Demonic" album. If anyone wants to hear an awesome, and I mean awesome drummer, check it out. Maybe one day I'll be good enough to play that tune. The drummers name is Gene Hoglan. I hadn't heard of him before but he's a force to be reckoned with.

Someone please listen to that song. If you think it's not that hard, try to play it. The snare hand part is freaking crazy!

Have you gone back to the bands that influenced many of these guys?
i.e. Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Motorhead etc.
