| Hello:
I'm not exactly new to drumming..in fact I've been playing for over 36 years...but took some time off to make a living in the crazy newspaper business...shooting news images.
I got the urge to start playing again, after I gave my drum set to my niece Alissa ( they are beautiful Ludwig Blue Vistalites with a Radio King snare )
So I now started buying drums again and found this old Slingerland set via a friend and I'm like a little kid again... Even the cymbals are vintage zildjian and a couple of zilco splashes.
Man, music is a powerful thing and to me, drumming is a passion!
Cheers, Terry

I just love to beat on stuff with sticks!

| Hi Terry
I'm Mike from just outside of Washington DC. (United States)
We have a good group of people here from the UK, Canada, Scotland, Australia, Russia, and the US. Our ages range from mid-teens to 60-ish. We have a lot of differing opinions about equipment, bands, women, politics... you name it.
The group gets along pretty well with a lot of repect shown.
Some of us have been playing since Nixon was our president. (...or even before!) Some came back to playing after many years off. And some are fairly new at it. It doesn't matter, everyone has something to offer.
You'll notice from the post counts next our names that many of us are true post whores.
Your Slingerlands sound like a great kit. The old three ply shells sound like nothing else. I have a six pc set of "Blakhrome" 1975 Slingerlands and a four pc set of super clean 1964 Leedys that were made by Slingerland.
Welcome to the group and have fun.

No offense Al, but you'd be an ugly niece.

| Hello there Terry Im the youngest here I think. Im 15 and have only been playing for a year and a half or so, so I've got a lot of learning to do. Welcome to the forums. Not trying to be mean but do you really eat tea and crumpets? Matt the happy cow.
If this band was a person, it would be president. If this band was visual art, it would be the main attraction at Louvre. If this band was a book, it would be holier than the bible. -METALLICA
