Jackie's parents had a very sweet dog named Amber. She battled cancer for the past seven rears including Chemotherapy.

Yesterday we had her put down to ease her pain.

It was a tough day. Amber was 14 years old.

I'm sorry Mike. What kind of dog was she?

My family has always had large breeds of dogs, so I think only two of them even made it to 14, with shorter life spans. Its always a hard decision to make, I hope you're doing alright.

Amber was a an overweight medium sized mixed breed with a particularly sweet nature. My guess is that she had several different hound and terrier breeds in her background.

We're okay. Amber had belonged to Jackie's sister Chris until she passed away about six years ago, so for the family it was particularly hard to part with the dog.

Thanks to all for the kind words, I know I'm not the only "dog nut" on here.
