thanks Mike,,,
I am the one who created this question about the
A customs vs 2002's , i am planning to get a full set of one of these cymbal packs,, i have a budget of around 700-800 dls to purchase one of these, i have tried both type of cymbals and i really love them, I want something very versatile.

Thanks .. Adrian

If you're looking for versatile, I think Zildjian A is the way to go. A Customs to me are not as useful in a quiet setting as regular As, and 2002s even less so.

Though I do like cymbals from all those lines.

Hi Adrian,

What kind of music do you primarily play?

From behind the kit I had the same impression as you about A Customs and volume Duncan. There are two local blues players that come to mind who use only A Customs and they sound great even at low volumes in small clubs. (In my opinion.) Hearing them changed my opinion somewhat. (Personally, I've always favored darker sounding cymbals for blues.) One guy I'm thinking of in particular really makes them work.

It is all just opinion though.

Rich, how are you and your Paiste Signatures/Zildjian K Customs doing? (I actually was trying to remember if it is "K"s or K customs that you have.)

They serve me well thanks mike, not as strange a combination as it looks. If I had the cash I'd have a full set of k cus for playing at church and a full set of sigs for the covers work.....but I don't.
I play with two crashes, one sig and one k. What I do is swap them round depending on the style. Sig power crash for the covers stuff, k for the more expressive, low volume stuff.

Cymbal combinations are still a learning experience with me. Some combinations that you don't expect really work.

I've been giving a lot of thought as to what cymbals I'm going to use for the recording. I'm only using a full kit on one song. I'm thinking that I'll take my Constantinoples, Bosphorus traditionals and Ks along and see what works best. I'm only intending on using hats, ride and one crash anyway.

I may bring my Signatures along just in case none of the darker sounds work.

I'm just curious as to how the different rides in particular will sound when recorded.I'll probably try two or three while we are setting levels and just roll with one of them.
