Okay, so I'm not comfortable with all gadgets. I guess when you start messing with the nature of the instruments themselves, I get out of my comfort zone. It just seems to make playing so unnecessarily complicated. A solution in search of a problem. I'm probably just getting old.

I just love to beat on stuff with sticks!

I have a Gen16 setup on my electronics. The cymbals are a joy to play compared to the agony of trying to get a natural stick rebound from a piece of rubber-coated plastic!

Crashing them must feel better too.

Yeah, crash, they are a joy to play! The 18" crash is exceptional!

I ran across this demo of the GEN 16 cymbals which just happened to be from my favorite shop, Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center.

I finally got around to trying these. Maybe I was using them wrong.

But to me, they felt okay. Great for an electric cymbal I suppose but played kind of like a B8. And they sounded TERRIBLE. Every setting on the 'brain' unit sounded exactly the same.

Like I said, perhaps I was using them incorrectly.
