I prefer... either.

All of my kits are standard 14" x 14" and/or 16" x 16" with the exception of my DWs.

The floor toms are 12" x 14" and 14" x 16" on that kit and I like the sound.

I like 14x14 but find 16x16 to be s really strange and difficult to tune size sometimes. My absolute favourite is 14x13 and 16x15, but those are difficult to find. I've also played 14x14 and 16x14 together which sounded great. Member since at least October 2005!
