I'd sooner spend $4000 on 5 different kits than $20,000on one kit......

I owned that Tama Superstar kit in that exact color in the 80's. Wanted Yamaha Recording Customs at the time, but I found a great deal on these, which seemed to a similar birch shell. I HATED them. The hardware totally choked the mounted toms, leading to me using RIMS mounting system for the first time. The floor was flat and lifeless. THese drums had a wide rounded crown bearing edge which i think real killed them to my ear (though my Allegra kit has a high crown edge and it works for them). By contrast, the Yamaha had/have a 45 degree bearing edge and I find them very tunable. To this day I own a Yamaha Birch Absolute fusion kit that is very easy to tune and responds well to all kinds of heads.

I thought that might get a (vintage) Superstar stoning from you Gene Devilish
I still listen to my '82 Superstars on a CD from around 15 years ago - the tone and depth still blows me away. Its just different courses for different horses Pleased

Normally if a kit doesn't sell one would lower theprice slightly to get interest - this guy has raised the price for the 2nd time....
