Company Background

Roland Meinl was founded by its name sake in 1951 in Germany. Cymbal production was started in 1952, and throughout the years has been an innovator in the industry. In 1965, they became the first to use cymbal poly bags, 1972 became the first to use screen logos for cymbals, 1974 was the first company to offer pre-pack cymbal sets and in 1984 the first to use multi-colour screen printed logos.

Meinl use 6 different alloys in the production of cymbals, B20,B12,B10,B8, FX9 and MS63. Meinl have production facilities in both Germany and Turkey however all cymbals pass to the Germany facility for the final production process. Meinl is known for its speciality of forging the heat treated bell with extreme hammering.
